About The Role

The A1 Group is a family run business specialising in Scrap Metal, Loo Hire and Wet Waste. Our Car Spares division is looking for an 4 Car Transporter Driver to join our expanding team working out of our Wokingham Depot.

The driver is responsible for transporting vehicles from one location to another in a safe and timely manner

The Role:

• Maintaining all required paperwork is completed in line with procedures and requirements.
• Load and unload cargo from the trailer
• Follow traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle
• Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure it is in good working condition
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
• Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues that arise.

• Ability to work as part of a small team with limited supervision
• Good product knowledge upon completion of in-house training
• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety working and be aware that this job is physically demanding with work mainly carried out outside.
• Timekeeping and attendance are essential to maintain customer demands

Essential

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Commercial driving experience
• Ability to operate different types of vehicles such as vans, flatbeds, or trucks
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle if needed
